AB 32 is Bad For California

Thanks to California State Senator David Cogdill, we have more information on AB 32, an invasive and destructive law foisted on the people under the guise of fighting global warming. It's a job killer. Margot Roosevelt reports in the Los Angeles Times.
The report comes at a politically charged moment, when polls show employment to be Americans' top concern. Signature gathering began last week on a November ballot initiative that would delay the law, known as AB 32, until unemployment drops to 5.5% for at least a year. California joblessness is over 12% today.
Note that this doesn't take into account all of the underemployment and the people who have simply given up.
The report came in response to a query from Sen. Dave Cogdill (R-Modesto), a critic of the law. Released by Cogdill on Monday, the report emphasized that job effects are "difficult to accurately predict . . . with gains in some occupations (including so-called green jobs) and losses in others (primarily involving fossil fuel-related energy production)."
"Green jobs" that are government jobs or exist on government subsidies shouldnt count, as they cost us tax money.

Also in the Los Angeles Times, Jim Tankersley reports that "global warming skepticism" is rising in the GOP. I sure hope so.
One leading Republican, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, warned his party last week that embracing skeptics could pose long-term problems for the party by alienating young voters concerned about climate change.
Grahamnesty also claims that enforcing existing immigration and border control laws enrages Latinos - as if Latinos don't also benefit from law, order, and national defense.
