Playful Walrus Update

Like everyone else this time of year, I'm busy with more important things than blogging here. I'm still around, and still have a lot to say, but my blogging has slowed down and may remain slow for the next few weeks.

Check out some of the links in the column on the right. Read through some of my classic postings. Drop me a line and tell me how you are doing and what you do like and don't like about my blogging. Invite me to check out your blog.

Thanks for reading and pointing others to The Playful Walrus!

Playful Walrus Update

Happy New Year!

Thanks for continuing to read this blog, and for e-mailing and commenting and linking.  I'm not sure how often I'll be blogging here for the next several days, due to the holiday weekend.

However, you can find me on Facebook, which I'll probably be checking daily.  Friend me on there and we can network.

I do have an announcement to make.

I have joined The Opine Editorials!

The Opine Editorials has this purpose:
Defending marriage on the firm ground of reason and respect for human dignity.

Encompassing the marriage related topics of gendered biology, kin anthropology, family law and policy.
If that sounds interesting to you, or if you have enjoyed my entries here on marriage, please check it out.

I haven't decided yet if my participation there will mean shifting my marriage-and-family issues blogging mostly to that blog.  Even if I do, I will still blog regularly here on Townhall.com, as I enjoy blogging about a variety of political-cultural issues.

I may occasionally cross-post.  I'll just have to see how it goes.

Have a blessed New Year!

Playful Walrus Update

My blogging is already slowing down as we head into the holidays.  I will be blogging through the holidays, just not as much as I have been.

Thanks for reading and thanks for commenting and sending feedback via e-mail.  Thanks especially for linking to me.  You have kept me in the top five (sometimes at the top) in the greater Los Angeles area (KRLA) blogs here on Townhall.com, and I again cracked the general top ten.

Are you on Facebook?  You can find me there by clicking here.  If you aren't on Facebook, you should really consider joining (it is free) as a way to network with other conservatives.

Check out some of the Featured Posts and Blog Roll links in the column on the right.

Here are some recent entries you may have missed:

And speaking of the holidays, I pray that you and your loved ones will have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thanks for your ongoing support. Blogging is likely to be somewhat light for at least the next couple of days as I will be busy with other things.

There is a lot of conservative networking going on on Facebook, and if you're not there, I highly suggest creating an account and joining up with our causes there.  Until Townhall.com gets "social networking" functions, we need to take advantage of the other places out there so that the Left does not gain more of an advantage.  You can find me on Facebook by clicking this link.

Thanks!

Find me on Facebook!  Connect to me on Facebook.com so that we can help spread the word and commiserate over the Leftist blowhards we encounter.  Click on the link, or go to Facebook and search for me.  Since I have a common name, search for me under my e-mail address: playfulwalrus[at]yahoo[dot]com.  I just started up that account, so there’s not too much to it yet, but I’m eager to network.

Thanks for continuing to read here, link to here, and comment here, and for your e-mails.  This blog continues to be in the top 5 for the KRLA (greater Los Angeles) area.

Please continue to send people my way, write comments here, and e-mail me.  I appreciate all contact and feedback, even when we disagree.

I know I’ve been focusing a lot on Prop 8 issues, but there has been a lot of coverage of it, especially in the Los Angeles Times, and I haven’t wanted to let that go by without being analyzed.  I considered creating a separate Townhall blog just for Prop 8 issues, but I decided against it - at least doing it alone.  If you would like to do that, we could always collaborate – I could start one and add you to it.  Contact me if you are interested and have a demonstrated ability to blog regularly.

I've updated the links in the right column so that the main Featured Posts give the reader the basic idea of where I am coming from.  This allowed me to shorten my list "More of My Featured Posts" that is further down in the column.

I have also updated my blogroll - both Other Townhall Blogs and Blogs Not at Townhall.  Check them out!

If you want your blog included in my blogroll, let me know.  I'd appreciate a reciprocal listing.  I tend to drop blogs if they go dormant, and if your Townhall blog is really there to link to your other blog elsewhere, then I’d rather link directly to that blog.

Thanks again, and I hope to hear from you.

Playful Walrus Update

It’s great to be quoted again on the front page of Townhall.com.  Thanks to the website editors for that, and thanks to all of you for reading, commenting, and sending e-mail.  As of this posting, I’m ranked #5 for Los Angeles area blogs – thanks to your visits.

The quote on the front page is from this posting, entitled “Voter Suppression Drive”.

Also, you can check out the column on the right for featured blog entries (scroll down for the entire list) and for other blogs.

The Opine Editorials is a great place to go for mental stimulation, especially if you are looking for in-depth consideration of the marriage/Proposition 8 question. I extend my thanks to them for linking to several entries here.

I have no doubt that they are helping to keep The Playful Walrus in the KRLA Top 10.

Where Has the Time Gone?

I apologize for not blogging yesterday.  I was out making a bunch of bad loans so that I could either make money from people somehow making the payments or from the taxpayers buying me out.

If you're new to the Playful Walrus, I usually blog two or three times a day Monday-Thursday, and sometimes make a few entries Friday-Sunday.

Thanks for stopping by and for your feedback.

Thanks For the Quote on the Homepage, But...

I'd like to thank the person responsible for putting my quote on the front page at Townhall.com (See the whole posting here.)  However, there there is a misspelling in the quote.

Thanks for quoting me, and for the link.

If you are new to this blog, I suggest scrolling down and checking out some of the additional featured posts in the right column.

Thanks for continuing to check in on this blog and for your feedback.  Posting will probably be light over the next several days as I take care of some other things.

Introducing “World Wide What?”

Yes, yet another Townhall.com blog is here, featuring a Typical White Person Who is Clinging to Guns and Religion, and Supporting “Failed Policies” That Reduce Terrorism, Violence, and Oppression.

After sitting on this ("ww") Townhall.com blog address for a while (they wouldn’t let me register “www.blogtownhall.com” – those control freaks!), I finally figured out what I want to do with it.  That is where I want to put most of my thoughts about celebrity/Hollywood news, and indulge in some humor of the satirical and parody sort, especially mocking media.  That way, I can leave my main blog, The Playful Walrus, for everything else.

Considering we’re not getting paid for this, I’m not sure why I’m bothering.  I guess it is because I just need to vent or express some creativity sometimes in a quasi-anonymous forum that contributes to the larger conservative effort.

So click on over and bookmark to read all of the stuff they don’t want you to read.

Playful Walrus Update

Thanks for keeping me near the top of the KRLA* blogroll.  It would be great to get back on the general Townhall blogroll top ten again.

I've update my own blogroll here on the left of the page, and added a new section with more of my own featured posts.  I figure that's easier than repeating myself constantly.  Check out some of my "classic" entries.

If you want to be added to my blogroll, let me know and please consider adding The Playful Walrus to your blogroll.  I'm reluctant to add blogs here on Townhall.com that simply link to the "real" blog elsewhere without providing information here - just so that you know ahead of time.

As always, comments and feedback are encouraged
.

Thanks!

*Oops.  I called itr KKLA at first.  It is KRLA.  I was getting my Los Angeles Salem stations mixed up for a moment there.

Playful Walrus Update

Ken the Playful Walrus Writes...

Hey, people... Thanks for making me #1 (and as of this posting #3) on the KRLA blog listing. Speaking of KRLA - Frank Pastore has been doing a great job on his radio show covering the marriage neutering events in California, and what that's going to mean for freedom of religion, children, masculinity, and femininity.

Posting is likely to be light here over the next few days or so as I devote more attention to some other matters.  Feel free to comment on posts or e-mail me at the address provided.  Please consider spreading the word about The Playful Walrus and adding me to your blogroll.

Thanks!
